Saxophonist TOINE
THYS is a central figure in belgian and european Jazz. On
tenor saxophones, he’s a energetic and intense player, playing almost every
night in a different city.
Toine Thys is
actually performing with his new group RACKHAM.
This is a group
combining Jazz, Rock and Pop music. With high energy, joyful playing and
surprising melodies, they reach a large audience in Europe.
With their very
communicative presence on stage, RACKHAM is looking forward to share their
music with the asian crowds !
Their new cd SHOOT
THEM ALL has been released in November 2011, and has been
nominated for the BEST BELGIAN JAZZ BAND in the ‘Octaves de la
Musique 2012’, and received a « REVELATION» award
from french magazine « JAZZMAN ».
Toine Thys is also very
enthousiastic about his collaboration with ‘Imagine a City concept’. He is
willing to travel, ready to meet asian musicians too, and give workshops over
saxophone, improvisation and jazz.
